  • Behringer HELP ! ! !

I know, I know. This post probably belongs in the "EDIUS plug-ins" forum, but many of you who own Behringer BCF2000's that work, probably don't go onto that forum frequently - and this is the MOST FRUSTRATING time I've ever had with a plug-in. Someone, please give me a helping hand before I tear out the only remaining 137 hairs I have left on my head!

Cannot get the new Behringer BCF2000 to work with EDIUS. FOllowed all the posts that ARE on the plug-in forum, to no avail. DOwnloaded the Driver v.1.1.1.1 as advised. Tried to load preset, as advised. Still getting the "verify to connect" garbage when I try to install P-9 preset (of which I cannot find, anyway)! Toiled for 7 hours. You all know what that's like, especially when I got "0" work done during that time.

So if anyone has the 2000 working well (or working at all), please detail step by step fixes for this. I have done everything others have done to make it work - I think - and nothing.

Believe me - my thanks to whomever solves this one. I really owe you guys!
    Cheers (well, sort of!),

    did you reconnect?
There are two parts of the settings in edius.

1 will display the bcf 2000.
    2 will display fader (device)

You load the preset 9 in the bcf one it is the edius default
when you have done that you you in to fader device and do a reconnect.

The bcf is only active while the edius audio mixer is open.

Thanks, Steve. I've done it all - at least 15 times, seriously. I cannot get the preset 9 to load at all (P-9). It says something like "Preset load failure. Check connect of device". (Great English!). I've opened and closed the audio mixer at least that many times, also - without success. I've rebooted, reloaded the v.1.1.1.1 driver, tried everything. I cannot even find the P-9 Preset anywhere. I DO NOT have ANY Behringer software (other than the driver) loaded, for the unit came with no software - so where's it trying to get the preset to begin with?

Thanks for your try - I'll continue to check in for your next bit of wisdom.

            Steve,

Here's the driver file from Behringer: BCF_BCR2000-1.1.1.1(1).zip. It loaded just fine, and shows in windows as the driver applied to the device. The device IS enabled.

Yes, the "system" folder in Control Panel DOES list the BFC2000 as a "contoller".

In the EDIUS setup, plugins - the Behringer BCF2000 is also listed there as well. But preset will NOT load.

            'Tis a mystery!

Also, Steve, turning the unit off or on also results in a "USB" beep - as it should.

Brand new unit. Received today. Didn't think it needed it. Have no Behringer software, so don't know how to check what version I have, nor how to upgrade the firmware. Website is NOT the best, to say the least. Got an idea for me?

Good morning, Steve. Well, we're off on another wild goose chase. Loaded your new driver. Nothing different. Windows still recognizes the BCF, but cannot load the preset in EDIUS. In the control panel, system folder, under Sound, etc. contollers is listed the BCF as follows:(even after updating the driver and rebooting) B-control Rotary/Fader 2000 12/23/2004,1.1.1.1. If that helps you - or me!

                          Steve...

In February, "Trax" posted the following post on the "Accessories forum":

"I found strange things with new USB/MIDI driver for Behringer BCF2000. If you use version 1.1.1.1 then Edius 5.54 works fine BUT if you update to version 1.2.1.3 then Edius doesnt works (you cannot load preset in Plug-in menu)..."

                          Anything to this?

Don't know. I have installed it on 2 systems and it works.

When I am back behind the system I will post details.

One more piece of info, Steve. The firmware is the latest - v. 1.10. Read on the LED upon statup. Confirmed with Behringer yesterday afternoon. They were not much help with our EDIUS problem, but you were really correct, many moons ago, when you said this was a real "headache".
                              Have a great weekend.
