firwire port on storm

my firewire port on the back of my computer that also contains minijack for the speakers and svideo is going bad. the firewire is loose and wont stay in and when it is plugged in it causes edius to not run smoothly.
is this card plugged into the storm card or part of it. if its part of it, how do i replace it without having to buy another stormcard.
where can i find another one.i know i can put on another firewire card, but it wont have the svideo and the minijack for the speakers and a regular firewire card would force me to go OHCI.
any help appreciated

Contact support, afaik they still repair the connector.

Btw, if you have a DVStorm2 card then you have a second firewire connector on the card. You just have to change the jumpers on the board and you'll be fine.

would that be the firewire connection on the front breakout box?

The firewire port on the breakout box is just connected either to the back connector or the internal connector if you have a DVStorm2 card. Take a look at the card if there's a second connector.

i think the front one is inactive if im using the back one.would i just unplug the back one to utilize the breakout box. are you saying there are 2 firewire plugs on the card?

If you have a DVStorm2 card then you have in fact two connectors:

- one at the back

- one on the card itself

There are four jumpers on the card to configure which one is the active one.

some time ago I did a test with a DVstorm2 board. I just removed all the jumpers and tried to capture...
Both connectors went active and I was able to choose the one to use.
So does anyone knows what is the purpose of those jumpers?

Actually I dont remember if I removed all the jumpers or if I added some more (it is more than a year ago) but the point is that I was able to use both connectors...
