  • Upgrade to Edius 4.6 - Missing TitleMotion

I have a customer who due to some hardware problems, had to use Edius 3.6 until about a week ago. After we did a big upgrade to his system, he upgraded to 4.6. However, he can no longer use TitleMotion. It wasn't in the 4.6 ISO download I got from the support area and if we try to install the copy from the 4.0 CD set he has, it gives a weird error about the version not being relative or something like that and won't install. Is there a new version of TitleMotion we should download for 4.6 or should the version he has be working? Can anyone assist? Thanks!

the titlemotion CD included with Edius V4.x packages is an upgrade version... during the installation it asks for the original old cd (from version 3)... is that the case?

No it doesn't prompt for the CD. I will try to get the exact error message from him but it is something along the lines of "TitleMotion Package is not relative" or something very strange like that.

Have you tried simply installing 4.0, then TMP, and then upgrading 4.0 to 4.61?

No, I figured since the 4.6 image from the site was a full install, it wouldn't be necessary to install 4.0 first. I will have to try that I suppose.

Some version bundles of Edius did not include TMP with the price.
If you have the V3 disc you should have no problem installing TMP.
Edius 4 will have a disc for TMP and if you are doing an upgrade it will ask for the second disc from V3.

It is a full installation package... of EDIUS v.4.60. We bundle OEM TitleMotion Pro with EDIUS as a part of our agreement with Inscriber; that licensing does not extend to releasing full installers in ISO updates of our software.

OK, so I corrected the problem. As it turns out, when 3.6 was automatically removed when I upgraded to 4.6, the old TitleMotion Pro that was bundled with 3.6 didn't uninstall for some reason. This is why it wouldn't run and appears to be why the 4.X TitleMotion installer was having issues. I completely uninstalled 4.6 which removed the offending TitleMotion version and after re-installing 4.6, I installed the TitleMotion that came with my customer's 4.0 discs and everything worked well. Thanks all!
