Hi,
I'm just starting to use my recently purchased Edius NX Express system with Pro version 4.5. The hardest thing I find is figuring out what presets I need to use. I'm working right now with standard def mini dv footage. I don't know crap when it comes to specs and technical stuff and I don't understand the difference between 59.94i and 50i. It gives me the option to capture in either of these and I'm not sure what is the best one to use for the footage I'm working with.
I also have a Canon XH a1 which I will be using HDV footage from and I'll need to know the presets to use for a project for that as well. Also, if I want to work with that HDV footage on the timeline in HD, do I then have the option to master that project to file in SD as well? I'd like to eventually be able to make SD and HD dvd's of the same project, if that is possible.
I don't find the Edius manual to be helpful with this at all. Everything I read seems to assume you already understand all these specifications. I don't so if someone could break it down into laments terms, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.
Matt
