Rendering Decision and Rendering Options

Hi,

I would like to understand what EXACTLY means the items "Rendering Decision" and "Rendering Options" in the application settings menu. As said in the help, if I uncheck FILTER in the Rendering Options there will be no orange line in the time ruler when I apply a filter to a clip. But is this only for information? Or does it take effect in the realtime performance?
What about the Rendering Decision? The bigger the number, the safer I get playing back my timeline in realtime? How does it function?

It doesn't affect realtime performance. It does affect whether EDIUS thinks you have to render a section or not (whether you get blue, orange or red line above a section).
