The reason I asked is that I have been delivering blu-ray material for almost 2 years now.. I shoot HD, edit HD and then deliver in HD and SD. So, finding someone that has actually been able to get HD Xplode would be a plus for me.
With the two ATI cards I am getting True RT with HD clips on an SD timeline.
Just in case you might be interested in that.

As I said working in HD, you can use any card...and not get RT. So at that point it becomes personal choice per your other programs. Nothing more, nothing less.

This will all be a mute point later on this year. Xplode Pro is going bye, bye. So, whatever GV comes up with
as the replacement effects package will determine which way the preverbial wind blows for graphics cards.

Thanks Gerry, g'day Steve. A lot of hype surrounds Edius regarding render free, real time preview and unfortunately many seek the holy grail by spending squillions on hardware solutions that won't work and in many cases will never work.
Like every other NLE Edius needs to render and will only preview in real time some very specific files. As Gerry said, outside the ordinary (particularly with HD) the ProDad, New Blue and even XPlode Pro all need attention. The best advice I could give would be get use to the workflow, drink coffee and enjoy what you have. Nothing will change in the immediate future.

Time to close this thread, as it appears to be attracting some off-colour behaviour. Literally.

Jerry's comment is the only one anyone need bind to - Xplode is almost out the door, and the world will change with its departure.
