  • Where to get Xplode2 for Storm2?

I know this is a punt, but if my local Canopus support don't have any copies of Xplode for Storm V2, where could I get a copy of this out-dated legacy product which I inadvertantly un-installed and which isn't on my Storm2 disc?

NOTE: I was only given Xplode for Storm V1 which only supports that legacy OS Win2k/95, not XP!
    IntelDG965SSK mobo, nVidia7600GT, Intel E6420Core2Duo 2.13ghz, 1 meg DDR2 RAM, Canopus Storm2Pro, Edius 3.62.

    Oooh that's old....

Upgrade to EDIUS 4 because you can download Xplode 4.5 for free...and EDIUS 4.5 will be a free upgrade.

I'd like to, but the Child Support payments are killing me! So......

Unless somebody has a copy to get rid of I think you might be out of luck on that one. Sorry about that.

The DVStorm2 software was on two discs. Did you look on both?

For some bizarre reason I only got one disc.

I will try to look for it, that is if I have it.

PM me your email in case I find it so I can email it to you.

I think you're looking for Xplode for Storm or something similar???

If I remember rightly (this is going back nearly three years ago), the package contents for DVStorm2 Pro was thus:

                1 x DVStorm Board
1 x DVStorm Component Output Module
                1 x StormBay
1 x EDIUS LE (or maybe EDIUS Pro 3) Installation CD-ROM
                1 x DVStorm2 Pro Additional Utilities CD-ROM
                ? x Associated Manuals

So there was two CDs, but only one that carried the DVStorm branding/artwork (green-blue art and the DVStorm2 Pro logo). It is this disc that contained the Premiere Pro plug-in and Xplode for DVStorm (for use with Premiere Pro.

In any case, I think the idea was that when DVStorm2 Pro launched, Storm Edit/Video/Audio/Navi was being omitted from the bundle to try and push people into either EDIUS or Prem Pro (since development had well and truly ceased on Storm Edit).

So it's quite possible that there was never a CD included that featured the Storm Edit software.

As I've said in the past, I can't put up an archive of the Storm utilities in the downloads section, due to licensing issues (for that very reason - some DVStorm bundles didn't come with the software originally, and yet, the software can install on any machine with a DVStorm).

Storm Edit isn't freeware, nor is it yet officially regarded as abandonware (that I am aware of). Please bear this in mind.

Yes, these are the exact items I have, though there is no Xplode for DVStorm on the disc (unless it's part of the PPro plug-in??)
