  • Consolidating project

    Ive filled up my 1tb hard drive and am now thinking of consolidating my older projects within that harddrive.
    Have any of you got any tips or nightmares in useing the [consolidate project ]
    option within edius broadcast ver 4.61

    -Dual Xeon i7 2.66 Ghz x 5550quadcore NehalemHyper/Threading.SupermicroX8DAI motherboard. 1xwestern dig 32mb cache drive.2x 1tb samsung 32mb cache sata drives. 6x 2GB DDR3 ECC RAM.nVidia-gtx 760 card.Procoder3,Prodad,New Blue,Blufftitler After Effects,cinemasuite etc.

    Consolidate works for me only in simple projects... one sequence, AVI files (HQ or DV) and wav audio...
    don't try consolidating if your project contains mpeg or mp3 files...

      yes, attach an external USB hard disk and copy paste the project, then delete it from local drive

      consolidate can bite you, don't use it unless you are 100% sure that there is no HDV file, no mpg file, no ac3, no m2v, no m2p, no mpa, no wmv, no QT etc. on the timeline

        I will just keep on buying ex.drives for now
        Just had delivered another 1TB drive at a cost of £150.00
        So not to bad if that cost is spread across all the projects and work in The 1TB
        Drive

        Hope GV can see these threads and will sort something out for future releases.
