unwanted glare

I shot an interview and realized too late that there was a glare on a picture frame just behind the speaker. Is there a way to create a matte on a seperate channel to darken the glare? Perhaps even a tutorial that would help.

can you attach a frame in order to understand what exactly you mean?

You can easily create a black matte if that is what you want. Create the matte and put it on a track above. Apply the the 3DPIP and then use the crop tab to get it the exact sixe that you want.

You might also take a copy of the interview, darken it, and then use the same procedure above to crop it to the exact size of the picture frame that you want to replace.

is the camera locked off or constantly moving?

If you use After Effects....it can be fixed, to a degree. Unfortunately the original source is "burnt" so there is so much you can do. You can, however, close a different part of the picture and put that on top of the glare, that is if there is an exact piece that looks like it could fit on top of the glare.

Dunno, might work for u. Try the region filter to mask off the offending glare and treat that with colur balance and see how u go.
