  • Component Out on Edius NX Express card?

I can't seem to find an answer to this question but I'm a little confused... I purchased an Edius NX Express recently and had done so after months of researching and trying to settle on the right system for myself. I wanted this version of NX because it had the component output to deliver the HD signal directly from the timeline to an HD television monitor. But from what I see, there is just BNC outputs. I'm confused by this and didn't know BNC cables can support HD. I'm trying to figure out what cables I need if I want to connect the card to a regular HD tv monitor. As far as I know, there is no such adapter to convert BNC to component connectors. I started calling Grass Valley early last week, where I purchased the card through and have left several messages to get a return call back, even stating that I wanted to make an additional purchase, and nobody has returned my call. Any help would be appreciated. I'm very confused.

I think that you just need some cables like the one in the picture...

1 There are bnc male to rca female adapters.
you would then use the rca cables + connector on the nx

2 Bnc female to rca male.
You would then use bnc cables and the connectors on your hdtv

3 bcn to rca cables as in the picture of previous poster (b&H has alot)

4 you could buy a HD monitor with bnc connectors :)

Ok thanks. I guess I'll just need to get them from B&H. I was at a few stores yesterday and nobody knew what I was talking about asking if there was such a thing as BNC to rca. Simple enough.

The BNC to RCA adapters are readilly available for a couple of dollars each at most electronic shops, like Radio Shack.

RE: mariian2teo : umm, you should start a new thread, not ask a totally off topic question during someone elses thread, that's just how it works. Just start a new thread and people will help.

Monoprice.com for the people in the U.S.

Grabbed a good quality BNC to RCA (for Bravia input) for cheap.

As mentioned there's plenty of RCA to BNC adapters out there at your local electronics store (not Best Buy type).

I use "BIG BAD" MONSTER cable for connecting my NX card to my HD broadcast monitor :-).

Make sure the component cables are shielded for better signal quality.
