It does as of 4.61 I believe. Export won't be until the next version, though.

          Editing with XDCAM PDW700 footage

Could anyone confirm the following - If i shot on the XDCAM PDW700 with the 50MB/s 422 codec could I happily transfer the footage into Edius and edit with it. I have a shoot lined up with 2 of these cameras in late August and need to know if I need to revert back to my DVCPRO HD shooting set-up.
I understand export isn't available yet - but I'm assuming I could export to a normal AVI etc and playout to tape etc.

          Many thanks.

Yes, you should be able to pull this footage in now with (Broadcast) v4.61.

That is good news. I've heard that Avid and Final Cut are busy trying to write codecs for the new version so I'm glad to hear that it will work in Edius with the new higher bitrate.

If anyone has experience with this camera and successfully edited material, or had problems could you let me know. I don't want to shoot my production and then have problems in post production as we have a very fast turn-around to produce the edit.

              Many thanks

don't know about AVID but FCP added support for the new 50 Mbs 422 codec since before the camera's official launch

I've just been told it won't work until beta version 5 which will be released in September. Does anyone know if that means it won't work at all now then? Surely someone out there has actually tried it!

I do not know who is telling you stories, but I can assure you that import functions perfectly fine right now.

There is no announced release date for the next version (which will add output for this format), but it certainly won't be a beta.
