JVC HI DEF EVERIO GZ HD7 Compability

Hi friends
Can anyone help me as to if EDIUS is compatible with the clips from the JVC GZ HD7 Hard Drive camera the format is 1920x1080i MPEG2 TS? and 1440x1080i MPEG2 TS? Before I spend any money for a second camera (Need a light weight HI Def to compliment the FX1) but no one can tell me if the MPEG2 TS is a proprietary encoder from JVC. Having been caught with some footage from a friends DV EVERIO I am reluctant to jump before confirming
