No Audio

With Edius 4.5 i imported an avi file but i have no audio?
The file plays with audio in averything else with no problem?

I've imported other files which play with audio but not this one?
What might I be doing wrong? Thanks in advanced!

Got hardware? NX/SP/Storm? If yes then check out the manual on how to route the audio from the hardware into the line in of your soundcard.

Not likely the audio route if other files play fine. It wouldn't be as simple as having the file on a non-audio track? (Should be VA or A)

Ahh...maybe it's AAC?

Go to Start > Run > Mplayer2 (If you have XP)

Then go to it's properties to see what codec it's using. By the way that's a weird frame size so EDIUS might give you trouble with that as well.

yes, 592x320 is totally non standard video, it is not 1:1 it is not 4:3 it is not 16:9

I would say any edit software will have a heart attack

It's a delivery format, not an acquisition format. But with that said, EDIUS can edit XviD video, but if the audio format is one that it does not recognise, you won't be able to import it.

If that's the case, the AVI file will need to be demuxed before importing into EDIUS. (with the audio then being converted to a format EDIUS can work with - preferably WAV).

As it is, EDIUS isn't the best piece of software for editing XviD files...nor is any other NLE, for that matter.

Yes the video size is crazy I have to resize it.
