  • Fade to black

    Hi

Is there an easy way to fade to black from one clip and up again on the next?

Currently I put a small colorclip in between the 2 clips and places 2 disolves that each goes 50% over the black. With a lot of clips it takes a lot of time, so I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it.

    Thanks

    /Ulf

Just have the clips next to each other and add the dissolve to the keyer. Leave a blank space between the clips if you want the black to be longer

Do you have the fade or dissolve icon above the timeline? Yu can use it by just placing the cursor where you would like the fade to start and then click the button.

I must be missing the point here but what I do is simply put a dissolve at the end of the first clip and a dissolve at the beginning of the second clip.
I use the fade to black most of the time between clips rather than a transition. Especially if one of the clips is static and the other is a pan.

Thanks guys, yes I have the icons for fade - didn't thing of that :-)

That way is much easier, or the disolve on the clips w/o black clip.

          Thanks :-)
