problem designating drive for edius capture

when i open a new project and i designate a drive in the folder window that i want the project to be on and, thus, this would be the drive that when i captured in edius, the footage would go to. but when i browse and pick a different drive, it wont show up in that window.it keeps defaulting to my V drive which is completely full.
why cant i designate another drive to go there, it wont let me.
i have a huge project i need to load, but i cant.
help appreciated.

go through your Application Settings/Application Tab, there you will be able to set a default location, once set, it will be used for all new projects
