Sorry - I got lost. I don't have any experience handling those two cards - mine is a NX (PCI-X). I just plug it into motherboard, and run setup ... no problems at all.

Did you try resetting the BIOS back to "failsafe" mode?

Hello to all EDIUS users, this is my first post since I bought EDIUS NX PCI Express.... I noticed some explanations on the user manual did not quite match, I know this sound a bit lame, so here's my question :

IMO, the only really cheesy bit of hardware.
In my package, the EDIUS NHX-E2 hardware doesn't come with what you called black internal cable/board connection cable (6pin-6pin). Checked with package contents outside the box confirms there's no board connection cable which was mentioned on the hardware setup manual

With NHX-E2 there's only one firewire port, so how could this be done ? I tried to separate the mainboard with no luck

      Thanks for your kind attention

Does your package looks like this? One big PCI-e card and one small PCI card?

Yes, the package does like the one you mention, except the model featured on the page was NX Express while the one that I have is just NX. The hardware board that comes with it is NHX-E2 board with expansion board already attached on top of, which make it just one big PCI-e... the expansion board on the top doesn't have PCI or PCI-e connector

I have the NX card here - it is not the Express version but, PCI-X version (older version - 64 bits PCI). It comes with another PCI card for component output which you need to connect the NX card together with the smaller PCI card.

Note - the NX card itself has two physical cards - and are screwed together. You cannot remove the smaller card yourself .... unless you want to void the warranty.

I am not talking about the NX card itself - but, the extra PCI card. Do you have that? If you don't have it, then you cannot have realtime preview off the component output - you have to make do with S-Video output only.

            *************
Can you check your motherboard? I take a look at Asus website - your motherboard don't have 64 bits PCI slot - only 32 bits PCI .... I don't know if you can plug the NX card into your board.

I don't have the extra PCI card, just the NX card. The board doesn't have 64-bit PCI slots but have 3 PCIe 2.0 slots to mount the NHX-E2 hardware.

So, your card is PCI-e version then? You got me confused now. I thought your card is NX Express - (PCI-e) - but, you told me NO.

If your card is NX - and is not Express - and not PCI-X - I don't know how your card looks like then.

Can you take a digital photograph of your card and post it for me to take a look - then I understand what you are talking about? Thanks.

I didn't mean to get you confused, the product name as appeared on the box is EDIUS NX (not EDIUS NX Express like the one on the web, even the web doesn't listed it). The product came with an NX card labeled NHX-E2 and NHX-B10 bay.

The NX card has 2 physical cards attached with each other and only have 1 PCIe connector to mount on the mainboard. I will upload the photo tomorrow since I'm already off the office.

Thanks for your help and attention

EDIUS NX Express was 2 x PCI-e cards.
EDIUS NX (labelled) came in varieties with PCI-X and PCI-e cards and options for the expansion kit. The Expansion kit was always a PCI card (not PCI-e) with bay.
The HX-E2 is the PCI-e card, the HX-E1 is the PCI-X card.

The problem I have - according to gatot, his HX-E2 card does not have any connectors at the top to plug in the black connecting cable nor any firewire connector as well - if I understand what he is saying. Can this be possible? Even if his kit does not come with the optional PCI card for component output, at least, the HX-E2 card should still be equipped with the connectors at the top. That's why I am confused.

Maybe he is holding the card upside down? :)
