You can do what Philip did as well...download the freeware scenalyzer and let it do an optical scan on your footage...It is slow but it works fine...

I am strictly the humble editor. I tried to find the data code on the tape but there seems to be no time/date running on the camera. I guess I will need to manually split.

    Thanks

Just a thought. Did the internal clock battery on your camera die? I had one die on a GL2 and because the internal clock was messed up it didn't split in capture. I used scenalyzer to capture and they have optical recogition for scene split so it wasn't as bad as it could be.

Just a thought regarding the battery....it may be a stretch but worth the check.

Try checking just the data timestamp and see what happens

Are there settings on the deck that can turn on and off the data stream?

    Automatic capture split

I have the settings properly adjusted to split at timecode/audio/time data but it is not splitting. I have to manually stop and restart capture at cut points. I'm using a Sony DSR-25 Sony miniDV tape via Firewire.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks
Working...
