What type of footage/preset are you using?

Are you using any EDIUS hardware or is it just software only?

I am using a basic ntsc preset, and no footage yet at all.

I just upgraded, and it does not work, it freezes when I click the timeline.

No Hardware, software only... I am so stuck!

does the crash leave a clue in event viewer, system or applications, look for red errors

Sounds pretty diabolical. I assume your system was running perfectly prior to this update?

What version of EDIUS were you running before you installed 4.61?

I was on edius 3 pro.

The event viewer does not show anything.

It freezes only when I click the timeline.

            Should I re-install again?

I think I am going to try that.

Some pretty significant changes have been made since EDIUS Pro 3. Assuming you've ensured your hardware requirements are met, I'd certainly advise you to make sure your system's driver updates (graphics card, motherboard chipset, DirectX, etc) are all up to date.

Also, when installing EDIUS, make sure not to uncheck any of the components that are being installed (especially DirectX and Quicktime). Even if you have those installed already - just let EDIUS figure it out for you.
