  • Importing multiples stills - Properties

    Hi,

Im importing numerous still images (bitmaps & jpegs) into my bin. The project is setup as 4x3, yet all the still images appear in bin and timeline as 16x9. Other than having to go through each one individually and rightclicking to choose "properties" and change the aspect ratios, is there a way to have them all appear in the bin at the right aspect. The are indeed 4x3 images originally but somehow Edius is changing them.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What resolution are the stills? EDIUS "recognizes" certain resolutions (mostly those that correspond to video resolutions) and sets them 4x3 or 16x9 automatically.

they are exported bitmaps from powerpoint. Set at 720 x 480 at 72dpi. which SHOULD be read as 4x3 natively.

unfortunately, 720x480 from PP is not 4:3 because the exporter uses square pixel

you need to make them 640x480 or 720x540

        640/160=4
        480/160=3

        720/180=4
        540/180=3

you can change the PP page setup to export at the correct size, I would use 720x540
