make the image 768x576 square pixel aspect in Photoshop, it will look perfect in a 720x576 rectangular pixel 4:3 project, as long as the image looks good in Photoshop

also, add a 1 pixel by 90 degree motion blur in Photoshop

    then save as tga

A simple solution could be using Heroglyph which is an Edius plugin and designed with "tracking" in mind.

If you are going to move/zoom around the map, then AfterEffects (or equivalent) is definitely the way to go - outputting to Canopus HQ or Lossless, then importing into Edius. Trying to do it all in Edius will inevitably lead to a loss of resolution. Maybe this will change in version 5 .... :)

the trick is to make it the correct size prior to adding to Edius, that way Edius does not need to scale it

what is the project size, SD or HD etc, 16:9 or 4:3

    Maps to the timeline

What method are people using to add a map to the timeline.

I have tried photographing a map, adding arows etc in photoshop, saving as a TGA and importing onto the time line---- produced a poor result.

I have tried pasting the map into paint, adding arrows etc and then importing the file, poduced a poor result.

So what is a good method??
