Save project with new name (if you need old project), delete all unwanted sequences leave only sequence you need, dont delete input files or consolidate project, import this project as sequence in new project....

I appreciate the postings from Kenneally anf Koi. I understand now that you cannot export a single sequence. Instead create a small project containing the titles I wish to re-use and save that as a template project.
Sorry it took a bit to catch on to what Kenneally was suggesting.

How do you create such a sequence that can be exported from one
project and later imported to another project.

I cannot think of any other way to describe this.

You don't have to export anything, just do your title sequence and save your project as "template" or something like that, when you are working on another project, if you want to import that title sequence, go to sequence/import sequence and browse to "template and import that project in, if you want to put that title sequence on your current timeline, just shift a to highlight all of the template sequence, ctrl c to copy and go to your current timeline and ctrl v to paste.

It's all done via projects and project files. Sequences are a subset of a project.

So if you've created a sequence that you want to use somewhere else, it's no different to saving a project.

(In other words, there is no method of selecting just one particular sequence out of many within a single project, when importing or exporting)

I'm trying to understand your workflow here.

Do you want to save a project, for it to later be edited or imported into a new sequence in EDIUS?

If so, you simply save the project file (.EZP file). This is all that is needed to reopen or import. Now if you also want to package all assets used in the project, for archive or transportation, use the Project Consolidation feature. This will save the project and a copy of all associated files used in the project to a location you choose.

Or, are you asking if you can export a sequence in such a way to open in a different third party application? If that is the case, you must use the EDL or AAF export functions.

Thank you for your reply Kenneally.
You wrote "Export a sequence as a single file? (use Print to File)"

I have looked at that option but it does not produce an editable sequence. You end up with a completed file such as avi etc.
To rephrase the question, how do you export a sequence, meaning retain the characteristics of that sequence so that you can import it again into another project later as a sequence again.

Export a sequence as a single file? (use Print to File)

Export an entire project, with all files? (use Cosolidate Project)

How can you export a sequence?

I cannot find a function to export a sequence.
I read in another posting this may not be possible.
Is that true? if so why have in import sequence function?
Could anyone clear up this confusion please.
