  • Premiere 6.5 crash

    HI all,

Maybe someone can shed light on this problem. I'm using Edius 4.1, StormEdit 2 and Premiere 6.5 (dependent on whether I am colaborating with other editors). Hardware is a DVStorm2 card.
After adding the correct scripts to the Canopus.ini file all is good with Edius and Storm, but Premiere crashes either when I load the program or when I try to import a file.
I loaded the software in the following order:
    1. Premiere 6.5
    2. StormEdit2 (drivers and all)
    3. Edius 2
    4. Upgrade storm and drivers to latest version
    5. upgrade Edius to 4.1
    6. Update plugin packages

What am I doing wrong? Why won't Premiere play nicely with Edius/Storm? My rig specs are in the sig.

    Thanks in advance.

I could be mistaken, but I have a feeling that when you install EDIUS 4.x, stuff (driver/CDVC codec related) is overwritten with a new version, which ultimately breaks the (much older) Premiere plug-in.

It doesn't break the plug-in, it updates the premiere plug-in. Regardless, I was crashing before I upgraded to 4.x, so I thought it might be a video card issue - but was hoping others had experience (and resolved!) the same issue.

              PRF File

So where would one find this "PRF File"?
I also notice that when I get to the Load Project Settings window (before the crash), although there is are Canopus DV folders for NTSC and PAL, there aren't any settings files within those folders....hmmmmm.

              Thanks,
