  • RexEdit - back from the dead

    OK - before I get into my problem - please no flames about why I would want to use RexEdit. This is a special situation and I need it to work. So, anyhow - I can't get the overlay to work in ReXEdit in the following machine:
    MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX
    CPU:Intel Pentium E2200 Allendale 2.2GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core
    GPU:ASUS EN7200GS/HTD/256M GeForce 7200GS
    VidBoard: DVRexRT
    2 GIGs RAM

    I know there was a work around with StormEdit and NVidia Cards by editing the CANOPUS ini file. Anyone know if there is a similiar fix for RexEdit? If so, can they post it.

    Thanks in advance (no dinosaur jokes either!)

    I STILL use Rex Edit (and Storm Edit) more than Edius because of one VERY VERY annoying feature of Edius. Its the Undo. There is no way of knowing whats been undone. It should behave like in Rex Edit and Microsoft Word and every other app out there, in that it should jump to the position and zoom level when undo 'ing so that you know whats been undone.

    Anyway, I added the following to the Canopus.ini file for my Storm edit PC. You may need to change some of the names for Rexedit. Make a backup of the Canopus.ini file just in case you have to revert back.

    [CtsHal]
    OverlayUpdateMethod=1
    [DVStorm-RT.stmcore.conf]
    OverlayMethod=0
    [DVStorm-RT.stmdd]
    OverlayUpdateMethod=0

      I don't see how you guys can go back to Rex/Storm Edit heh...but to each his own.

      By the way you can know what's been undone/redone in EDIUS by clicking the small drop down arrows right next to the undo/redo buttons on the timeline section :)

        Yah, I had the same thought. That added script solved the nVIdia overlay problem in my StormEdit system. The script as is just crashes the RedEdit. Any idea what needs to be changed to make it work for Rex. I can change "DVStorm-RT" to "DVRex", but I'm not sure about the stmcore.conf naming, or the stmdd.
        Anyone??

        THanks,

        Tim
