  • How to save an edited clip in the bin?

I am editing a 2 hour performance project. When originally captured, each clip was over an hour long. Now edited, the timeline clips range from 10 secs to 3 mins.

I wish to create a highlights montage from several of the edited clips, by choosing them from the timeline and shortening them further into 5-10 second versions before placing them back together as a new "highlights" sequence.

I tied copying the chosen (already edited) clips and pasting them into a new bin folder. When I load these clips in the player so they can be further cut for the montage they are back to the original one hour length (with a tiny segment indicating where my chosen clip is located.)

Is there a way to copy and paste the edited clips so that I can work with the shortened versions instead of trying to work with a 15 second part of a huge one hour clip? I'm sure I'm missing something that will speed this process.

    Thanks!

You can make a new sequence and copy and paste between the sequences without the need of going into the bin :)
Everything will be retained, length filters, etc.

After you add those clips to the Bin, highlight all of them and just bring them back to the timeline and Alt N and Alt M, that is how I normally do it.

Make new folder to bin, select all editited clips, right click add to bin or shift+B...
