make sure your Edius still capture is preset to maintain the aspect

Yes I see 1920 by 1080 seems to put them right in photo editor........
Would still like to know where the settings are though....Thanks Anton!

You can work with a 1440 still in photoshop, just go to Image, then Pixel Aspect ratio and change it to HDV. Or, go to Image, Image size, Un check Constrain Proportions, and change the pixels to 1920x1080. Then if it still looks funny, go back to Image, Pixel Aspect Ratio and change to Square pixels.

when imported into another application the aspect ratio is off - squashed - everything is tall and thin?
why don't the stills retain the 1440 1080 aspectLast edited by Blast1; 06-03-2008, 08:13 PM.

OK Think this may be a numpty question BUT...........
I have been editing HD now for a few months and have always used stills from a digital camera for my cd / dvd face for clients, I have just tryed to use the still from the EDIUS HD timeline and when imported into another application the aspect ratio is off - squashed - everything is tall and thin?
I can alter this in a stills editor but why don't the stills retain the 1440 1080 aspect?
As I write this I am sure its to do with the interlaced nature of the picture??
Just not sure............although I am sure its a fundamental thing I should know........
