Title effect on video track

I have discovered that I can apply video effects on a title by placing the title on a video track.

When I place the title the alpha background is ok.

But when I apply the transition, the key is not working anymore, I have a big black rectangle around my title.

Is it possible to use keying on titles also in the video track?

Some transitions work others don't.

That is a known. You have to try to see which ones work.

The thing you are seeing is a result of the limitation of alpha channel handling of EDIUS at the moment.
