    Rick,
Maybe the fact multiple people emailed will encourage him to write a new one. I would venture to say we would all pay again for a full priced version (no free upgrade) to have an HD version. I would pay in a heatbeat....and you can add costs of inflation as well. It was that good of a utility.

The closest I have found is using the free google utility called Picasa. It allows renaming and moving files around but doesn't have any playback controls for quickly scrubbing a clip to see it's content. You have to just sit and watch it if you need to preview the content.
Main System. MSI G33m Motherboard, Intel Q6600 CPU, 2GB Ram, GeForce 9500GT, 7200rpm System drive. WinXP. Lots of external eSATA drives.

Laptop. Sony Vaio. CPU- i7-Gen 3, 8gb RAM, 1tbb 5400rpm hard drive, AMD GPU

I did mention to him that I'd be glad to buy sclive all over again. In fact I'd I'd pay 3x what I originally paid. It saved sooo much time that it would pay for itself in a month. Hmmm do TGV have an SDK. In know that you can get buy C++ libraries for handling video files..... heck it's probably possible in Visual Basic.. Are there any (ex)programmers like me out there ?? Maybe we could do something open source ??? Anyone interested ????

What Edius could do with is a manual split button (as on Scenalyzer) when capturing.

In the meantime there is always "consolidate timeline" which gets rid of all your rubbish... if you are lucky!

The feature of SCLive that I liked more than splitting the scenes with the timecode (which Edius can do) is the way it displayed a thumbnail filmstrip of the contents of your file. I could name all the short clips based on the filmstrip without scrubbing through them all. I could easily spot the clips where I was walking around with the rec button pushed and filming crap. That was the most beneficial feature for me.

The second most beneficial feature of SCLive to me was the ability to rename and move the files around on the drive easily right from the filmstrip interface. It was just a good utility.

I don't need a utility to capture HQ files, Edius does that fine. I need one that will let me easily see contents (like the filmstrip) and catalog/name the files easily. That's all I need.

            Rick,
I too am an ex programmer but pretty much don't have a clue anymore when it comes to programming. I would love to volunteer to help but I would be useless at this point. :-(
