I can't see why it wouldn't. My Mac Pro 2.66 Dual Core is the best Windows box I've ever had. Edius runs just great.

It should worik, the only reason id be concerned is the incompatability between Macdrive and Edius. you would have to edit and save your projects on a Windows partition. But if you want to buy all the hardware and ship it to me id be HAPPY to test it out for you:)

You don't have any yellow exclamation marks in device manager when you run XP through bootcamp? Since Apple does not use BIOSes, I thought some hardware would not be fully found.

When you run boot camp it makes a driver disk that installs Windows drivers for all the Mac hardware. Although just when I think the people in the Mac store are'nt total jerks I get proven wrong. I went in tonight to buy the FCS 2 upgrade and I happen to ask when you upgrade to wireless N if the windows drivers are there too (like in bootcamp) and all I got from the "Genius bar" was attitude. A simple "I dont know"would have sufficed.

Edius flying in my MacPro with no Windows related problems evident so far. The only drawback is monitoring HD.

Hey Geoff. Have you had a look at the Matrox MXO? Just wondering if it can be used?

                    Anybody?

There is a problem when the NX cards are fitted; if the main card is installed then it is impossible to immediately re-boot the Mac after shut down, I have to wait for at least a minute before the Mac will boot up. It is also impossible to recover after the Mac has gone into the sleep mode (under either Win XP or OSX) without manually shutting down and then waiting. Originally the waiting period was longer, half an hour in fact, but having had a new motherboard fitted in the Mac, the time has reduced to 1 minute. The same problem has been experienced when MY NX cards have been fitted in other, new MacPros even though Grass Valley have checked the cards and declared that they are OK. The Apple service people also claim that their kit is OK. I am reluctant to keep the NX cards in the Mac in case other problem arise as a result of them being there. I really wish that this problem could be sorted out.

Other users don't seem to have this problem. Any ideas, anyone?

                            Geoff

Geoff I have never had any problems like that....I have standby turned totally off both under OSX and Windows. Sleep mode works ok, but the fans kick in under OSX when it comes back from sleep so I never use it. This is due to the NX, if you read the manual it says that sleep mode with the NX is not supported...

I had the NX card above the graphics card and the component card above the NX card and I also had an Intensity Pro in there, all work fine.

I'm waiting for my 3.2Ghz 8 Core to come in (Apple is replacing mine) so it should work fine with the newer gen Mac Pro too, SR has an NX in the new one.
