  • Edius Crash on Quick Time Export

    Hi Folks

Edius seems to crash everytime I try to export to "Quick Time Export File" -->"Quick Time Movie" from timeline via Pro-Coder.
As soon as I go into the "Modify Exporter Settings" to configure the export options it just pops up the "ProCoder Express for EDIUS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

Any ideas? Strange thing is this option works fine on an almost identical system. (Q6600 CPU instaead of Q9300 CPU, everything else the same).

I have updated QT to the latest version without success, source is 1440X1080 50i HQ.

    Regards, Dave.

      Steps

      Thanks Anton

      Set Mark In/Out -->Export-->Print to File-->Pro-Coder Express for Edius-->
Select a Generic Target -->Quick Time Export File -->Save -->Advanced Output Settings -->Select Exporter & Choose Quick Time Movie -->Exporter Settings & Choose Modify Exporter Settings -->Choose Settings to make adjustments or any other setting eg Filters & thats when things turn to custard.
Sometimes it just crashes Pro-Coder & others it takes down Edius as well.

Running Version 4.61 at present & QT 7.4.5.

      Thanks again regards

      Dave.

            Fixed

            Thanks Anton, THoff.

Changing the QT preference settings has fixed the problem (as per the link posted by THoff), now all settings in the QT Movie Exporter are available without crashing, SD through HD outputs all seem to work fine.

Regards & thanks again for your help, Dave.

If you have "QuickTime Export File" in your System Presets for ProCoder, you are not running the latest version of ProCoder.

v3.05 and later call that target "QuickTime Plugins"

                PCE for Edius 3.05

Thanks for the heads up on this Brandon.

How do I upgrade to 3.05 I have installed 4.61 update & still have 3.01.13 even after uninstalling PCE & re-installing from the 4.61 Folder.

Unless you mean the stand alone version of Pro-Coder 3X which we do not have.

                Regards & thanks again

                Dave.

Yes there seems to be some confusion here.

ProCoder Express for EDIUS, current version = 3.01.13, uses "QuickTime Export File"

ProCoder 3, current version = 3.05.60.00, uses "QuickTime Plugins"
