    Former Edius 2.5 User Returning and Needs Suggestion

    I edited on Edius 2.5 and two Canopus boxes from 2000-2004. I went to the other/dark side with FCP for a few years but am now back editing with a house that uses Edius and am thrilled. Question: I bought Edius 4 Pro and it came with Version 4.5. The shop I work for is standardized on version 4.0 for now and that's what he wants me using... IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO GET VERSION 4.0 AS AN OWNER OF VERSION 4.5?

    Version 4.61 is free upgrade that can be downloaded in the registered user section

      Thanks for your quick reply but the problem is that my new boss is REQUIRING that I use version 4.00 and not 4.5 or above. I appreciate that GV is releasing updates to the newest version but I need something OLDER.

      Any ideas??? : )

        Either contact GV sales and see if you can get the old version, or install using your new boss' media -- you have a serial number and dongle that should work with it.

        There have been quite a few fixes and enhancements since V4.0, I don't understand why he is so attached to it.

          Sorry, I totally misread your post. I agree with Torsten. Use your work (4.0) install disc and try your current dongle. I think it should work fine. And really you should talk them into upgrading.

            version 4 can still be downloaded from archived products from your login area after you register with your serial number

              Also 4.5 projects can be opened with 4.0, etc...

              If your boss wants to be "safe" he should go to 4.54 and you could update to 4.54 which is still on the site. Or 4.61...

                Those are updaters only, so you cannot install them without already having 4.0 present on the system.

                As per other suggestions, you can either contact your nearest TGV office or just install off the site's copy of 4.00, using your own serial number and dongle.

                (you're legally entitled to run any version of 4.x with your purchased license)
