  • Outboard Audio mixer....

    Hi all,
There used to be a JLCooper mixer that worked through the USB port with the Canopus editors. Has anyone had any recent success with any outboard mixers and EDIUS? I remember Canopus used to sell the JLCooper, but no longer any mention of it. There were also other models folks were using successfully. for longer edits, these would certainly be a time-saver with multiple tracks.
    Thanks,
    Alan

I think it was a JL Cooper controller not a mixer, You currently can use a Behringer BCF-2000 controller.
Most USB mixers on the market use a stereo input (2ch) to a computer, to get anymore inputs you would have to use a mixer with firewire but I don't think that Edius's internal audio would recognize any of these, I run one Edius computer as a DAW with Cubase 4, Audition 3, and have a M-audio FW mixer also the Behringer controller, and the only thing Edius sees is the Behringer controller.

I have a JL Cooper FaderMaster 4/100-USB which is indeed a control surface, not a mixer as such. It is rather expensive. I bought it from an audio supplier, not through GV. It continues to work as intended with the latest version of Edius, although I have to say that the software implementation is nothing like as good as with Avids, so it is not quite the time-saver that it could be.
