  • How to customise layout

Is there a way to make sure that the effect tab stays at the back of screen when you want to make say a filter adjustment.

I'll try to explain, when I open say the white balance filter, it sits on the top of the rest of the timeline apart from where the effect tab is. It as if you need to have an option to send the effect tab to the back like we do in other programs.

    See attached screenshot.

You can nest the smaller application windows into one another. The Bin, Marker, Effect, and Information windows can all be collapsed together into one window (or 2 or 3, or whatever you'd like), and you can then select the one you want by clicking on the tab for each function as needed. This is really helpful if your screen real estate is sparse, and it keeps it in one place all the time. Just drag the various windows by their name tabs onto one another to collapse them together.

Chris, thanks for the advice though I was aware that I could nest them together but as i have space thought I may as well have the effect tab visible. The point I was making was that when I open one of the other tabs it is partly hidden behind the effect tab. Never did this in version 3.5.

I know what you are talking about, what you want to do is undock all of the windows and rearange them so that the effects window and information window is seperate by itself.
