Mixing Formats

I think I know the answer to this but I need to make sure. I currrently shoot DV in 16X9 with my GY-HD100s, I need a couple of covershot cameras so im going to pick up 2 JVC eviores I know I can import the HD footage pretty much right into Edius but can I mix it well with my SD 16x9 footage?

Both your SD & HD footage will mix well on the timeline.

I have placed PAL, NTSC, 4x3, 16x9, wmv, mov, SD & HD on the one timeline and it worked great.

If your project is SD and you have some HD on the timeline,
remember that you can use the layout tool and zoom in on the HD footage and it will be like you have a larger optical zoom due to the fact that HD's resolution is so large.

FYI, You can mix and match any format that can be placed on the timeline together and get good results :)

If your Everios are the HD versions it mixes with the JVE footage fine.
We use one as a second camera.

We have found though, that the Everio video cannot take much manipulation without the IQ suffering.

Thanks. I took it out on my first job and its o.k., compared to my GY-HD100 it sucks light like a black hole. I havent figured out all the ins and outs yet though but for a cover shot its o.k. espcially if you have enough light.
