Steve, Wishlist Central has a section on Edius effects. It has an effect by Alejandro Pineyro called Fake Foto (near the bottom) that might be useful for you. It takes a still and adds a 'camera flash' effect, then adds a white photo border as it gives the impression that the photo has just been developed, whilst reducing and rotating the image slightly. Available in Portrait and Landscape. Might help.

you can let Edius take care of it and use the layout tool to fill the screen but I don't
if 16:9 PAL, I use the crop tool in Photoshop and preset it to 1024x576 and draw a rectangle over the area of the image I want and then save as tga, works perfect in Edius
I created a Photoshop action that increases black to 15 and reduces white to 235 and applies 90x1 motion blur and saves as 24bit tga
so basically, I open my EOS 400D images in Photoshop, then use the crop tool, then play the action, very quick
alternatively, you could add a YUV curve in Edius and raise the black and lower the white, save as preset and drag to all other stills in one hit

Hi Steve
Edius prefers photos around the resolution of the project according to a lot of people, I have found providing it is in the 5 Megapixel range 2600 x 2000 pixels it resizes with little problem.
If you want to manipulate the stills with the "Ken Burns" effect ie pan or zoom it is best to be done in Boris Red external to Edius and use the 1:2:1 pulldown to eliminate edge artifacts, the output from Boris can be done in CanopusHQ with or without transparent alpha background.
Because edius resizes the photo to the Project settings when you Zoom in with 3DPIP the picture will become soft plus moving horizontal lines can appear, on Pans edge artifacts can also appear, more so with higher pixel photo's, better if the photo is close to the project settings.
If you are just using Still stills no problem resize them to fit the screen aspect ratio with the "Layout" tool
Hope this helps
Regards Barry

Still Photo's
Hi,
Can anyone help me, I also shoot still photo's with a canon EOS 1D MK111 and a EOS 40D, I would like to import some of the photo's into a clip at certain points, is there any special size or things that I must do to do this.
cheers
Steve
P.S I want to use them mostly at the end of a wedding shoot as a slide show.Tags: None
