I'm sorry but I am afraid to do it. I'm happy with with Edius v.4.54, I will do the update the next time (v.4.62). ;);)

Good to hear. Doesn't sound like a hardware problem... Edius 4.6x driver issues with NX PCIe hardware?

Last night I backed up my system drive before installing XP SP3 and Edius 4.61 update.

I loaded up a +3 hour timeline using the DVStorm profile with DV files and it was snappy. Even the clip properties would pop up instantly no lag. Loading up a HDV timeline using the OHCI 1440x1080 profile there was a very slight lag in the clip properties around 0.25 seconds too fast to time and well under half a second, Rusty's lag sounds like it takes a couple of seconds to to get the clip properties up.

It sounds like the problems with lagging or slowness are related with the NX PCIe hardware. Has anyone tried changing Project Settings to OHCI to see if the lagging has changed?

This may not be the problem but are the systems overclocked? If so double check that the PCI Express Frequency in the BIOS is NOT set to Auto, manually set it to 100, overclocked or not.

I would even try powering down the system and remove the power cord and re-seat the NX PCIe card or even try another slot. Or remove the NX hardware and re-test with 1394/OHCI card to see if the lagging has changed.

    I am tired!
I have worked much about my problem and I think I will wait the next version of Edius. I hope it will not give problems.
I hope it will ship very early.

Edius v.4.02 works perfectly! But when I have updated to v.4.61 I have get the same problem. I am dogged by bad luck!

I'd like to give you some news:
When I have opened Edius v.4.02 I have noticed Edius had just lost its config.
I have not configured it and I have installed the update v.4.61. When I have opened Edius again, it was already configured perfectly (in the way I configured it many days ago) but it worked bad.
    What bad luck!!

The ram sticks are installed correctly. I have always used Edius without any problem.

I'd like to tell you I have just unistalled Edius and installed it again (EDIUS Software v4 v4.6 Full DVD Disc Image) but I have the same problem.
    my reply was to Rusty

I intend to reinstall from the 4.0 disc.

also, are the ram sticks installed correctly, look at the mobo manual

for example, in my mobo I have a 2GB stick in first slot, second slot empty, third slot another 2GB and that is correct as per manual[/QUOTE]

It LOOKS like tape dropout, but it's caused by 3GB of RAM!

This is rendered from a perfect capture!
I'll test with SP3 (installed today) to see if there's an improvement. If that doesn't work I'll pull the extra RAM and deal with the slower performance! It fixed it before, and the RAM goes back on the shelf.

I've a large project to start, shot with 3 EX1's and I really would like to get 4.61 to run here, I can work with converting everything to mxf but it's a drag.

I've removed Edius, and all folders, used Canopus cleanup tool to remove anything from V.3 and V.4 - reinstalled from 4.6 iso file and still have this sluggish behaviour problem with the GUI.

Mostly the problem is that as the buffer is pre filling, the GUI becomes inactive, I can't stop playback, can't hit any buttons / commands. Once the buffer is full, it works again, but very slow responses.

A full restart clears the problem, then it randomly appears again.

Before I commit to a full re install of OS and everything else, does anyone have any final ideas or similar experiences.

    Paul
