how did you install the base version of Edius 4.6?
from a full iso image or was it an update from 4.5?
It was an update from 4.5. But many guys here have done this update without problems.
I remember when have done the update I was not able to open Edius v.4.6 and I have replaced the pavedius.dll file.
This is the problem?

I am 99% sure that you have an Edius install corruption
I would uninstall all Canopus found in add/remove
then delete all left behind folders in program files
then clear the temp folder
then install the full version Edius4.6
then clear temp folder
then install the 4.61 patch
there is a full installer version of 4.61 but I don't think it is available to the public yet (I got it thanks to GV Australia, so my new Supermicro has a clean install with no patches at all)

I will go out for 3-4 days. When I will come back I will do it.
Is it possible to save the ".ini" file so that I always get the same configuration?
thanks

If you have a deck connected which is off
1 turn it on let the dectection/switch happen
2 start Edius
3 then you can turn off the deck.
Or
Remove the cable from the deck
Start Edius and watch that the avc complaint dv tape recoder is dectected and loaded.
see attachement

Hey .... I have just notices it: even if I have unplugged the firewire cable of the videocamera, when open Edius. the avc complaint dv tape recoder always appears. Precisely ... I have deleted that icon (avc complaint dv tape recoder) manually. I have unplugged the firewire, I have restarted my PC and that avc complaint dv tape recoder was missing. There was not anymore. Then I have opened Edius and a message told me there was a new hardware, then that icon (avc complaint dv tape recoder) has appeared again.
How could solve that problem?
thanks

Hi, I'd like to install again Edius 4. I have just downloaded the
EDIUS Software v4 v4.6 Full DVD Disc Image and I have burned a DVD.
Could you tell me about its serial number please? I have the serial number of my previous Edius (v.4.02) and I think it is invalid for the new Edius.
thanks for your info.

Don't be so sure. There are problems with the new sony HDV camcorder which also use memory cards as an option. Nice pink frames and digital garbage.
This happening on top cards.
Ok maybe you can not call them drop outs :)
I do have to say that there are not many issues with P2 or Ex .

I've a large project to start, shot with 3 EX1's and I really would like to get 4.61 to run here, I can work with converting everything to mxf but it's a drag.
I've removed Edius, and all folders, used Canopus cleanup tool to remove anything from V.3 and V.4 - reinstalled from 4.6 iso file and still have this sluggish behaviour problem with the GUI.
Mostly the problem is that as the buffer is pre filling, the GUI becomes inactive, I can't stop playback, can't hit any buttons / commands. Once the buffer is full, it works again, but very slow responses.
A full restart clears the problem, then it randomly appears again.
Before I commit to a full re install of OS and everything else, does anyone have any final ideas or similar experiences.
ahhhh, the old digital video tape dropouts, they will also soon be a part of history
It LOOKS like tape dropout, but it's caused by 3GB of RAM!
This is rendered from a perfect capture!
I'll test with SP3 (installed today) to see if there's an improvement. If that doesn't work I'll pull the extra RAM and deal with the slower performance! It fixed it before, and the RAM goes back on the shelf.

did you do a boot.ini 3GB switch? this may cause problems with several Canopus hardware products
I'm sorry, could you explain better? I don't understand.
[QUOTE=antonsvideo;
also, are the ram sticks installed correctly, look at the mobo manual
for example, in my mobo I have a 2GB stick in first slot, second slot empty, third slot another 2GB and that is correct as per manual[/QUOTE]
The ram sticks are installed correctly. I have always used Edius without any problem.
I'd like to tell you I have just unistalled Edius and installed it again (EDIUS Software v4 v4.6 Full DVD Disc Image) but I have the same problem.
