OK I am going to let you try something.
I am not saying it will work for you but we have an oddity on one of our systems in which Edius was really slow .
We discovered an oddity.
Try it and let me know how it goes.
We discovered that Edius 4.61 will act slow on one of our sytems when the board did not switch completely at start of EDIUs.
This will always happen when we have a deck/camcorder connected, which is turned off, on the first board The Nx board not the one with the component out.
When it is off the avc compliant dv tape recoder won't load and you will not see it when you go to my computer. ( Edisu is slower then snail when this happens)
Our solution is to either turn on the deck and let the detection /switch happen and then start Edius or remove the cable from the deck/camcorder when it is off.
In both scenarios you will see the detection on the avc complaint dvtape and deck.
When this is correctly done Edius is fast.
I have reported this to Canopus.
So to recap.
If you have a deck connected which is off
1 turn it on let the dectection/switch happen
2 start Edius
3 then you can turn off the deck.
Or
Remove the cable from the deck
Start Edius and watch that the avc complaint dv tape recoder is dectected and loaded.
see attachement

I had the firewire conected on the Edius card and I did not make a mistake in it. I have unplugged the firewire and I have turned on my PC and opened Edius.
The problems are the same but if I have to be sincere I have seen a little improvement about capturing (but little).
Other problems are the same.
I am sad for it. This is a real piece of bad luck!
I hope the next update can solve my problem.

is it sluggish with standard def projects as well such as 720x576?
I would like to know your problem because 4.61 is so fast here, I can't click fast enough to keep upAnton Strauss

I would now recommend a reinstall of the OS.
Latest service packs, latest DX (march I think), latest chipset drivers.

I have installed te OS (Win XP Pro) the last year. I have installed every Canopus software in clear way, I have made 4-5 HDV projects only and do I have to install the OS again?
mmmm, may be it is sufficient to do an update of the OS.A lonesome traveler looking for lost tribes around the world: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdv...DrZCaaw/videos

Believe it or not sometimes an OS reinstall cures the most horrible evil.

For me the lag is not in the editing, but the interface.
I first noticed it when I checked a clip Properties.
Select clip>"Alt+Enter"
The Properties box appears...
.
.
.
then the box contents appear inside the box.
It's not a long lag, but definitely slower than 4.5xRusty Rogers | Films

If you use 5-6 moving titles simultaneously on 5-6 tracks (every writing down the other, 5-6 in/out moving writing) have you to do rendering? I see a very, very bad movement of the titles so that I have to do rendering.A lonesome traveler looking for lost tribes around the world: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdv...DrZCaaw/videos
