  • Dissolve Transition duration

Where do you adjust the default duration of a dissolve, for some reason when I select Ctrl + P the dissolve is a different duration every time. I am also unable to grab the dissolve handle to lenghten or shorten (or select one for that matter) on the left or right hand side of the timeline when the dissolve is hard up against the previous/next cut.

Using the latest version of Edius Pro Broadcast, Version 4.61

Found it, right click dissolve in the effects tab and adjust default duration, you can also under the same right click option menu select it as the default transition when you use Ctrl + P.

if the clip is fully extended, shows a grey rectangle, the transition can't be made longer, so be sure your clips are trimmed and have spare meat

zoom timeline to 5 frame level

you will be able to grab the transition edges

alt+U on selected transition lets you change duration with mouse+scroll wheel

ctrl+left click left edge of trans and ctrl+left click right edge allows you to use , or . keys to change duration
