  • How to use Avisynth within Edius ?

    Hi, there,

I came across this thread: http://ediusforum.grassvalley.com/fo...light=avisynth
and curious to know how to use Avisynth scripts within Edius mentioned by THoff. I would appreciate if anyone could answer this.

Last I checked, EDIUS won't permit import of .AVS files..

You can, however, use AVS sources within ProCoder Express for EDIUS, in order to transcode the format into something that EDIUS can work with.

A video professional shared a way to load AVISynth scripts in EDIUS 5.X in a newslist I read!
      This way works since 2008!

AVFS (AVISynth Virtual File System) brings the ability to mount any AVISynth script via the context dialog in the Windows explorer to present the script virtually as a folder with AVI & WAV assets in it. These can be loaded probably in any video processing tool!
Video applications without VfW & DirectShow support works too (inc. x64 apps)! I loaded the test script included in the ditribution package in EDIUS & in VLC-player. Booth worked fine.

AVFS is based on the Pismo File Mount Audit Package, which needs to be installed before!

The Pismo File Mount Audit Package works in the same way, but its ISO- & ZIP-file related.

The AVFS workaround would speed up my workflow immediately!

Have fun when experimenting with it!
