Thank you all. I guess I'll go with SP SDI 'cause I'll mostly deal with digibeta and HDV. In my country TV channels still prefer receiving edits on digibeta and the broadcasting trucks record shows on digibeta or SP or DVCAM.A few channels work with XD CAM.
    Thanks.

Other than that I'm comfortable with storm card but now I'm thinking of getting it further and be able to capture 4 channels, do multicam and edit HD content. So Anton you say SP SDI is better. I'll check the specs right away.
The SP will do everything that you stated over the SDI input (I think the SP will do 4 channels). But, when it come to HD, the SP DOES NOT HAVE an HD-SDI input. You can capture HDV
with Firewire though. If you are using Higher ended cameras that require HD SDI, you will have to find another way of importing. But if you use the P2 or XDCAM solution you can import direct to hard drive.

for DigiBeta, I would choose Edius SP (with component and XLR and 9pin VCR control) or Edius SP SDI (with component and SDI and XLR and 9pin VCR control) but not Edius NX (no component, no XLR, no 9pin VCR control)

Thanks KH, when I read NX Express specs I really saw that it's perfect for our company. As xd cam output is not essential for me right now, I don't think I'll need Broadcast. DigiBeta will be just fine. Now, I wonder how much that package will cost me. I'll just check with my local reseller. Thanks again.

LightPrism is right - at a minimum, you'll need EDIUS Broadcast software.

Then it's a question of Input/Output. From your list, most of those formats don't require too much in terms of I/O. DigiBeta is your one standout point. At the present time, we only have the one solution for SDI I/O directly with EDIUS.

Alternatively, you can always look at an ADVC1000 if you are happy to ingest/output your SDI via FireWire (DV25).

Note: The immediate replacement for your DVStorm is an EDIUS NX Express package - this will do everything the DVStorm does, but will also provide realtime HD component output for monitoring.

I believe if you are going to work with XD Cam, you will require Edius with Broadcast option.

It's probably easier if you cite specific equipment/formats that you plan on working with. That's typically the definining factor when choosing an EDIUS solution.

    started a topic Which Edius?

    Which Edius?

I'm thinking of buying an Edius editing system and want to do HD editing as well as being able to get 4 channels of audio from VTR's and being able to work projects for TV , what choices should I make: Broadcast, Pro, Storm, Rex...
I need some advice. I already have Edius Pro 4.61 with Storm hardware, but only composite and S video input not SDI.
Also does anyone recommend Avid Xpress with mojo over edius? I'm not asking which set is better, I'm just asking which one is more convenient to meet my ends. Thank you in advance
