I am trying out Edius at the moment before I possibly go back to using FCP. I have a problem opening clips with the extension .mp4. but no problem with .mov files. They both play OK in Quicktime player and my trial version of Vegas. Is Edius a little fussy about the format it can play and has anyone an idea why .mp4 files may be a problem.

The files I am using were just downloaded from the internet in order to try out the software.

What created the file, and what format is used within the MP4 file container?

    Do you have a sample?

Many thanks for the quick reply. The file was downloaded at random from the net. Attached is information provided when the clip is played in VLC.

Export .aiff from FCP, it will load fine in EDIUS :)

Looking at those specs, I can tell you straight off that EDIUS does not support x264-based input.

          (nor AAC audio)
