After updating form 4.24 to 4.61 i have noticed a strange behaviour from the autosave function. In the past you could trust the autosave function, now it erases the autosave version after saving the project. The worst is that after a crash you get only one change to recover the project !
I the past our costumer checked his original file after a crash, and if something was missing he opened the autosave version but now the autsave version is gone when you have opened the original (corrupted) ezp file.
Is there a way of telling Edius I would like to keep 5 autosave versions before overwriting?

As I understand it, every time you 'save' you will automatically create a backup of the previous saved state.

The autosave is only meant for disaster recovery. The backup and regular, manual saving is still an important practice..

      Hi KH

      try this:

      1. start new project and set autosave interval to 1 min to speed up test process
      2. click save
      3. do some work on the timeline for around 5 min and now check the Projects/AutoSave folder, you will see 5 autosave files
      4. now click save
      5. now check AutoSave folder and notice that step4 deleted all autosave files

I think this is what causes Raymond's confusion because in previous versions, the autosave files were not deleted when manually saving and exiting Edius

however, everytime you click save, a new version is saved in the Projects/Backup folder, so there is no real problem Raymond, check your Backup folder
