  • Trouble fading an image?? help

Hi, I'm totally new to Edius and video editing, so please bear with me if this question is a silly one.. but i'm using a freeze frame as an opening image and have put titles onto it using Title Motion Pro.. but I want the image to fade out (not just snap out to black) whilst the title remains on the black screen for a second.

I managed to find the fade in / fade out buttons buried in the animation settings, and have added them to the timeline.. but this feature wont seem to work on my image, only on a video file? am i doing something wrong or is there another way of fading out the image???

    Please help..

drag a dissolve from the effects palette to the keyer track of the still

each clip consists of 3 sections, video (top), audio (middle) and keyer (bottom)

alternatively, unlock the rubber band in keyer and fade out manually

Another way is to put a colour matte between the image and the title and use the keyer track controls on this matte track to fade from colour to image and then back to colour matte. As Anton has shown. I tend to use this to fade from and to black as I have complete control of what the background colour is then. Playing with keyers on both tracks can create nice effects behind the title track. IF you put your titles on a video track you can use the keyer controls on that too.
