Sorry, coming back to his. By tmpeg, are you referring to tmpgenc 4.0 xpress?

    thanks again,

Thanks for the quick response. So, the jagged edge is normal/expected?

If I use source crop, does this mean the final export will be slightly stretched in order to maintain the 720 x 576 ratio?

Again, thanks, and I'll look at tmpeg as you suggested.

you can use the layout tool in edius to crop a bit from top

or you can use TmPro to draw a thin black rectangle at the top to hide the problem

started a topic exported video gets jagged top edge

exported video gets jagged top edge

    Hi all,

I have so many questions about exporting for various purposed, but I'll start with this one, which I assume is a simple one and I just don't get something:

My goal is to have a clean output for web/internet delivery, the final format being quicktime h.264 which I do in Quicktime Pro. Either I export from the timeline directly to QT file, or to an uncompressed AVI that goes into Procoder express and convert to QT, which then gets recompressed in QT pro to h.264

At any rate, When I export from the edius timeline (PAL SD 720 x 576) to an AVI (uncompressed) or to Quicktime using procoder express I always end up with a jagged top edge that I just don't know how to get rid of/clean up. I assume this jagged edge wouldn't be seen on a television etc. (overscan), but how to get a clean output for web delivery?

Any advice is much appreciated. I am somehow lost in export options ****...
