  • how to float boxes

My client wants to have floating boxes with interviewees over a moving background....unfortunately these were shot in 16x9 with mostly wasted space in the shot. I used layout to crop them to a more portrait look. Client's cool with it but wants a border (bevel actually) and a smidge of a glow....I am not seeing this working though since the border goes to full frame of the pre-cropped image....I tried with Boris FX, video is OK but syncing the sound back in is tough....any suggestions...alpha support would be nice (again).

instead of using layout tool to crop, try the 3D PIP keyer and crop and soften the edge and add soft border etc
