  • HELP DISC CARPTURE FROM miniDVD

Hello ! I have this item. I can´t make disc capture from a dvd generated with an old model of JVC minidvd camcorder. Disc capture made all the m2p files, ok.......but these files, are corrupted or something like that. When I use them in my Edius project, the only show the first part of each video. After that, THERE IS ONLY A GREEN FRAME permanently........... Same case in each video capturated.

If I use PROCODER2 to convert de .vob file, SAME RESULT !
If I generate one big avi, same result.......first images and audio ok, and then.....only green screen.

Please, I need help to resolve this.
    THANK YOU !

Just capture the DVD via analogue output of DVD player- S-VHS - save your self lots of grief.I am assuming the DVD plays OK on a player- if it doesnt then its Siesta time!

Ripping DVD's to re-edit in a NLE as opposed to progs like Womble has a limited success rate, say 50% at best and still has to be re-encoded.....isnt that right Anton???
What you describe I have seen many times.

Stupid question but was the DVD finalized properly in the camcorder? My normal routine capturing from my daughters miniDVD's is to copy the complete disc to a directory and then get DVDlab to import. Seems to assemble files OK this way. Womble or one of the reall simple consumer editing programs also do a good job. The pro level NLE's seem to make a complete mess of mini DVD camcorder stuff!!!

            Hi

I have done a few good editings with DVD rip's inside Edius (and other NLE's), but it can be complicated as described. My feeling is that it takes a decent bitrate, 4.500+ mbit to be good, but I can not document this, it's just a feeling I have.

              thanks, I'll keep trying..

Thanks all of you for your time.
First of all, the camcorder was a SONY....sorry. It´s a friend of mine camcorder. He gave me the disk some days ago, and I´m getting crazy.
Yes, the dvd was succesfully finalizated, and it plays ok in a dvd player.
I will tray that: Settings > Plugin Settings > MPEG Settings > Disable use of PTS (i will look at that later at house, let me look where is it).
I've never used Womble....and sorry for this question, but...What does NLE's mean ? Sorry for my English, it's no so good like yours.
              Regards and thanks again.

NLE is NonLinear Editors Like Edius, Vegas, Premiere etc. My daughters camcorder is a Sony 505 and I have used the process I details in my first post. Copy all files to directory on PC and then this allows me to make a copy for her using Nero on a normal size disc, use DVDlab Pro 2 importing the first VOB( which will create elementary streams for audio and video for use in DVDLab) to create an authored disc for her( nice menus etc rather than the thumbnails menu of the mini disc) and then use the elementary audio and video streams created by DVDLabpro in any of the editors to edit down to whatever is needed.

Settings > Plugin Settings > MPEG Settings > Disable use of PTS and then re-import the mpeg files. It will work, Iv'e had the same problem a few weeks ago.
