After this I would like to get rid of the org. audio and if possible lock the video and new audio together so that I can make cuts along to reduce the length, without them moving arround eachother.

Create a new audio track and copy the audio from the short intro & outro video by using CRTL + SHIFT and drag to new audio track.
Now att the left side of the timeline deselect (off) the audio on the main a/v track.

Now you "muted" you original audio and only left with your "good mix".

By cutting using "SHIFT + C" you can cut ALL video and audio tracks in 1 click, then select both video &audio clips you don't want and just press "D" or DELETE when in "ripple mode" (sync) and the video & audio will be deleted and the remaining will stay in sync.
Not sure if you are looking for this but grouping sometimes complicate things, this is good after advanced cutting to keep things together.

Hi

I wonder how I can do this the best way. I have weekly DV project, that contains the following: A 20 sec. static intro with both video and audio, a dynamic clip and an static outro of 30 sec. with both video and audio.
The changing clip in the midle is a 30-40 min. long clip that needs to be cut down to aprox. 28 min. I have both onboard mic. sound for this, but also a mixdown form a mixer, that I want to sync up and use in the final piece.

I put of course the 2 static clips into timeline on my VA track and place the dynamic 40 min. one in between - easy enough.
I put my "good" audio mixdown below on an audiotrack and sync the two audios up - also quite easy.

Uptil now I have been removing the sound from the long middle clip and then made an export to DV AVI and then cut in that one, but I think there must be a smarter way to do this.
