  • Smooth Volume fades with keyframes

Is the a better way to get nice smooth audio fades other then keyframes? I can find any Bezier option, or good results by just setting a keyframe at 0. It always seems / sounds chopped. If there are any good suggestions.... " I'm all EARS".
    Thanks

    Hi

I have not found a choppy audio fade, but sometimes during a transition which includes the audio Edius might run out of processing power, in that case drop it to half playback resoltion and see if it fixes it.

For dialogue, where there may also be background noise or atmos, I use the volume nodes on the clip and 4-5 frames is about the minimum fade in for a nice smooth transition.

If the cut is inbetween two words there is little choice but to cut it down to 1 frame.

I also use Thomas Mundt's Loud Max 64 VST on my dialogue and for promo and testimonial videos for YouTube I have it peaking at minus 3dB, that usually gives plenty of volume on devices with small speakers, as often I have come across videos even with the playback sound at max it can't be heard on a laptop.

For other pro delivery specs follow what they need on peak levels/loudness.

Acon digital extract voice and deverberate are good for cleaning up audio as are on line Ai services such as AUDO tried recently.

Thanks Mike. I should have mentioned that I'm not getting a nice audio fade down with my music. Some sound apps have nodes that you can control similar to the adjustable nodes we have in the mask editor to SHAPE the curve of the fade. Thanks again for your suggestions.

If there is a compressor on the music with a fair amount of make up gain then it will tend to defeat the fade down.

If no compressor then yes you can add nodes to shape the fade down using the volume line.
