  • w system but buffer slow down

    Hello everyone,
After building a new pc I thought real time playback would be better.
No matter what change I make at Playback Buffer or at buffered frame before playback, buffer still goes max at 8, and if I have 2 or 3 tracks with simple videos of flares...then edius is slowing down so much.
Is there any other setting I have to check?
    Thank you

Could you post a screen shot of your project settings, the clip settings, and your timeline. Also, under System Settings>Application>Playback, try setting your Playback Buffer size to 8GB.
Your chip does not have any hardware encode or decode acceleration for AVC encoded clips. This may have some bearing on playback. If you are indeed using AVC encode clips (H.264, H.265) transcode a couple of clips in the bin to HQX to see if that improves playback.

Ok. here is the situation. In a sequence with 2 cameras edited buffer goes to 500. In a sequence that I edit the teaser (final edit 3 minutes) buffer is at 8
I cant understand how this works.

I changed buffer at 8Gb and frames at 15. Close and run Edius again. Thats when the buffer went to 500. But in the small sequence buffer still stays at 8

What makes up the small sequence? Are all of the Audio Mixer channels set to 'OFF?' Are any other panels open and running?

Do you use any third-party effects in the project which stays at 8 frames buffer?

The audio mixer is always on. I dont use any kind of effect in this stage. So all the clips are just as they came from cameras.
By small sequence I mean that for example when I make a teaser of a wedding the final length on all the sequence is around 3 minutes. There the buffer is max 8.
In the sequence that I edit the 2 cameras, I have 2 hours of footage and even before edit buffer is at 500 (with the changes that Jerry recommended)
Anyway. I will try in a project with multicam to see if I have a problem.

Did you check what Jerry asked? Are all the channels of the audio mixer set to off?

Are you in Multicam mode? I tested in 1920x1080 50p Multicam mode with 4 layers and I get the same buffer frames that you get 8.

Do you have a lot of effects applied to the clips?

Can you post a screen shot of the entire desktop. Include the Audio Mixer in that screen shot.
