Alpha Channel for a video

As a 15 year user of Edius I can't believe I don't know how to do this, maybe its because its late on a Friday and I'm a bit fried.

Anyway I want to be able display a looping video that I edit in Edius but then gets played in our live streaming software vMix. So I think it needs to be recorded with an Alpha Channel?

It is essentially sponsor logos on the top left of screen that appear for 10 seconds every 30 seconds. Here is a sample of what I mean https://youtu.be/BmQzBklQgyk?t=294

Make sure to have the setting shown in the screen shot applied in the project settings. There is also an effects setting in User Settings>Preview>Playback>Combine Filter layers and Track Layers.
I have all of the items ticked.

If you are just adding the logo at intervals, placing the logo on the screen will work. If you are creating a video, you will need to use a codec that supports alpha.

Hi Jerry, thanks for the suggestions. I tried the Grassvalley codec but it didn't work however the Pro Res did, BUT a couple of the logos looked all square as they faded. Only thing I can do for now is not fade the logos, just straight cuts.

You can export with alpha in a format accepted by the external software . Or export it so can you do lumakey or chromakey in you external software.
